youth development
girls' circle
This program is designed to promote strong relationships between girls and their parents or other caregivers by helping the girls to become resilient, self aware, and to fully use their abilities. It teaches girls to recognize and accept their strengths, achieve a sense of belonging, develop a sense of power, improve their personal relationship skills, and helps them recognize positive role models.
A national curriculum and group facilitator training is used to provide quality and structure to the circles. Adults with experience in working with groups of girls or leading group discussions are hired to facilitate the circles. If you are interested in being a facilitator, please contact us.
Girls' Circles are available for girls in the 5th grade through high school in selected neighborhoods. They meet one day a week after school during the school year. Contact us for the locations of current programs.
